Bush whose name I ignore
Please share your opinions on if it has potential as a prebonsai.
It is a bush that I lifted from my garden one year ago, reduced hight and had new growth (the branch that you see).
When lifted was much taller and the foliage was on the top part, that was removed.
The new branch became thick in one year, but the shape of the tree is unusual and I cannot figure out whether there is potential and it is worth working on.
Thanks!

well, in theory you can use any kind of tree as a pre-bonsai.
One of the things you may have to take in consideration for a potential tree is how many years you will need to make it look like a decent bonsai.
For this tree one life time would not be enough. As they used to say, is just a stick in a flower pot.
The choice of the right raw material is probably the most significant reason to success.
On the other hand if you are one of these guys just want have a plant in a pot with out a lot of expectations, just a tree that will make you happy then give it a try.
You can use it as well as on of these pilot trees that will help you to gain knowledge through experience

Thanks for your response Greg. Since you experts do not see any potential on this, then it is useless to try to develop it. That is why I asked in the first place, in order to get some expert's opinion.
When I find something more decent, I will ask again.

Gia sou Damiane,
i totally agree with Greg...as in all subjects there are different "schools of thought"....we have people who plant seeds a get the satisfaction of looking at something growing up from zero and those who buy or collect a good raw material and start from there....the first option might take a period of 20 to 30 years to get to something that you will feel proud off whereas the second the years might be lets say 10 or even less if everything goes well.So the decision is yours......I heard some japanese expert the other day saying that to properly establish and develop a BONSAI you might need 2 lives :affraid:How about that. Keep looking. Thx for posting.
By the way,i think your little tree is pomegranate(rodia)if i am not mistaken.

It is not a pomegranade for sure. It is a bush that was plant in order to make a hedge, does not make fruits.
I will just keep it in the balcony!
Since it is not worth as a post you can remove the pics if you like, in order to save some space for the forum.
