Hello again all.

After almost 2 yrs of inactivity (studies-employment) I'm back to the hobby. Unfortunately during my away time all of my trees have perished. But anyway, I began collecting again and recently acquired this tree with which I could use some help in identifying. I plan on getting more trees soon so hopefully I'll be visiting the forum more regularly.

The tree can be seen here:

My guess was Ligustrum but the nursery owner was: "No way it's definitely not a Ligustrum".

Well anyway, glad to be back and see everyone's still here thumbs up

Thanks for the welcome and the help all.

Savvas, I'm not one for unsuitable trees for our climate either (learned the hard way), but reviewing this tree's characteristics, it should theoretically do ok in Cyprus. The employees at the nursery claimed the trees have been in Cyprus for a year and have shown signs of rapid growth this year, but that's what you'd expect them to say anyway.

In any case it was a relatively cheap buy, and one I'm willing to give a go. thumbs up
