WILD OLIVE....OLIVE????????

This piece was picked up sometim during January 2011..its not the straight trunk tha inspired me obviously but the fact that the other part which looks weird,different and ageing is alive tha made the difference to me...Its picking up ok so far lets see what we will make of it....

I think that you have to remove the young straight part of the tree.
By doing this you will force new growth to come out of the old wood.

Hello Savvas. I wouldn't remove the straight section. Reduce it by half and then skin the bark from the lower part trunk. This will leave you with a nice piece of wood for carving, or if you change your mind later, remove completely to make a hollow. Great material though.
