One vote from me to Neil.
Dont worry Neil, if you ever come in Cyprus, I will force Savvas to give you the tree, if not this one a similar one
Not bad Savvas by the way. I see a few wrong braches there, it gone take you a few seconds to remove them

Nice little tree Savva.
You have finally come to your senses!!! (started chopping off unwanted branches)
The tree had no future to become bonsai as it was at the beginning.
Now, its future looks very promising!
Well done.
PS. I second Greg's proposal to Neil. i will also insist that Savvas will give away a similar tree (or this one)

Well done Savvas!
I like this tree, it has great potential. Nice trunk taper and movement.
I presume the last picture is the intended front of the tree.
I would remove all the branches below the level of the branch on the right at the bend of the trunk and the pair of branches above. Once you develop the apex it will look good.

Guys thx for your comments....
Forget about the present.... Let Neil come and i am sure we will find something to give him....Greg is responsible for presents anyway..
Stavro being around butchers you learn the trade...
Christo first picture is what i see as front, but time will show.Surely though it needs some cleaning...

Continuing with my repotings....its the turn of this small one,as its old pot cracked in the middle.....very happy with the health of the tree....
[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]
I had 3 pot options but the one i bought for this tree apparently was small so i was left with two...the following.......
[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]
I chose the green one because the other is meant for another tree.....

That's looking nice and healthy.Glad "my" tree is doing so well .
Do you usually repot olives this time of year,or was it because the pot was cracked.

Neil, our experience so far says that both repoting and yamadoring olives this time of the year is fine...actualy in a way you gain a growing season if everything goes well that is......Bare in mind Neil that our winter doesnt get too fierce anyway...If we are lucky we will feel winter by Christmas so the tree has enough time to recover....

Re: FIRST YAMADORY WILD OLIVE 03/02/2010....SHOHIN.
looks much better in a pot.
You need to remove a few branches.
Now in a pot will be easier to send it to Neil
Well done Savvas!
