The olive Benjamin - No1
Usually olive trees in Cyprus reach a height of 3-5 meters and over the years the trunk is typically getting fat, gnarled and twisted. The older an olive tree is, the broader and more gnarled its trunk appears.
Rarely in some areas and this due to the local site conditions (maybe due to lack of water, soil, winds etc) , olive trees remains small shrubs. Usually these olive trees has a thin but gnarled and with a nice movement trunk. If you are lucky enough, you may find an instant bonsai from such a material.
I didn’t see such a material to be used before as a bonsai, if you ever saw something similar please let me know!!!
An example of this material is the following

I do not believe in "instant" bonsai, but all i can say is that this type of material is excellent to work on
It has the right qualities: movement, rough bark, signs of old age.
Good choice!!!
