Re: olea yamadori autumn 2011
I have a couple of olive trees collected in autumn and allready, as well, shows signs of growth! unbelievable!! This is the reason I like to collect olive trees in Autumn, its give you an early growth.
THis is a lovely tree. I think you have to keep it as it is and make a wonderful literati bonsai. Just wait to see how it will go with the new growth.

I am already starting to think about the design. It is about time as i will keep the branches i will use, wire them, and remove all the rest.
Any suggestions??

I like your virtual, keep this solution.
You have plenty fo new growth there, well done.
Keep a few more branches for any case

As its a long tall female looking trunk you aim should be to keep the branches as low as you can....The virtual looks fine Stavro if your branches are strong enough then you should start working on it.....mind you i am a bit scared because i ruined one of my olives last year because i was so impatient...You know better off course.

I will choose the branches i need to create such an image and i will are them. Bending is always done in steps (within days from the application of the wire) because i don't want any nasty surprises. Now, the branches are at a stage that are still sort of bendable.
